Hello from hot and sunny Ohio!
Gosh, I thought I’d never be able to say that, given our weather the past few months! I was driving home from the gym yesterday, and when I got home and turned off my car, I thought, “Gosh it’s so hot my car never cools down!” (black car probs). Even with the AC cranked. So I left my windows down. Next thing I knew, I was laying down in my house, and I hear a crack of thunder, and look outside and it’s pouring rain, so I had to race outside and roll up my windows.
Anyways, the constant pop up thunderstorms mean summer is really here! I’m just glad the storms don’t last long
Week of May 29th
Su– 9:30 am OTF
M– 9:30 am OTF for Memorial Day
I don’t like to do OTF 2 days in a row since it’s high intensity, but Monday was a special “Military inspired” workout to honor our troops and all the work they put in. The weight floor involved 100 reps of 7 exercises. I don’t remember all of them but imagine: 100 squats, 100 push ups, , , , 100 triceps dips, 100 bench hops. I barely got through 1/2 in the allotted weight floor time! SO yeah it was hard, but I wish I had time to finish, because I felt like I didn’t get enough done
Tu– 9 am hot yoga flow
W– 9:30 am OTF. It was haaard.
Th– 9:30 hot power yoga (fav instructor day <3) where she decided to go core crazy. it was hard but awesome. and hard! but such a good stretch.
that night was also the return of POGA! (more below)
F– extra rest day because my hip has been hurting
Sa– more yoga!
So Wednesday I came home from OTF with (what I thought was) usual soreness. We had done a lot of back work and I was feeling it! But, I like that feeling because I don’t work my back enough. The same thing happened on Monday, but I was having a bit more hip/joint pain. I was definitely feeling the push and was looking forward to the weekend break. But by Wednesday’s class I was suddenly in a lot of pain. In class, I had to modify some of the workout even. – it hurt to walk sit, squat etc I basically couldn’t be in 1 position for a long time either. I cancelled Friday’s class and focused on stretching and foam rolling. It helped a LOT an by Sunday I was up for a workout, woo!
I also hit my goal of doing more Yoga, yay! It helps when I schedule all of my classes the weekend before. Also, this week was POGA! The theme for this summer is “Arts, Sports, Music”, and this week was outside the Wexner Arts Center! It was a perfect evening- it had cooled off from the day, and the storms stayed away!
I grabbed some Bibibop from across the street for dinner too. It’s a great price, but a bit skimpy, so I added some more greens and tofu when I got home. Love the toppings, sauce, and flavor though!
Besides that, I actually didn’t do a very good job of using up last weeks’ grocery hall D: we ended up eating out a lot!
Still, made some beet hummus that I was craving and cookies to eat and test / re-shoot
I did make this stir fry as planned!
cookout at a friends on Memorial Day
And then, to satisfy a craving I’d been having since Spring Break!…
And somehow.. my mom ended up with 4 boxes of FREE pizza from Whole Foods. 2 are cheese-less. They messed up and we have tons and its so freaking good but I am SO sick of carbs!! hah.
And I went to the coffee shop at another Whole Foods here on Saturday after Yoga. I got a juice + decaf soy cap (and wish I had Georgie near to make some pretty latte art!) and found this amazing vegan berry scone- it was more of a mix between a scone and a quick bread/muffin because it wasn’t overly sweet, and I loved it!!
And in the few hours I’ve been on the computer, it is now pouring again. I suppose I shouldn’t be shocked by now.
Plan for this week:
– go to the farmers market (my neighborhood one starts tomorrow, yay!) and actually cook vegetables
– keep up with yoga
– run once
– stretch the hip!

what’s on your agenda for the week?
but seriously. how good does that scone look. ugh, if it only wasn’t so far. okay maybe that’s a good thing!
